What is Nature Therapy?
Nature therapy, also known as ecotherapy, is a holistic practice that involves engaging with plants and natural environments to enhance mental, emotional, social, and physical well-being. This therapeutic approach encompasses a variety of activities such as Forest Bathing, Therapeutic Horticulture (TH), Eco-Art and Nature Meditation. It facilitates a deeper connection between individuals and the natural world, and may result in reduced stress, improved mood, and enhanced wellbeing. These nature connection experiences are at the core of our workshops and programs.
There are a number of related terms used to describe nature therapy, including but not limited to: Social & Care Farming, Forest Therapy, Shinrin-yoku, Outdoor Therapy, Bush Adventure Therapy, Horticultural Therapy (HT), Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH), Garden Therapy, Plant Therapy, Nature-Based Therapy, Green Therapy, and Green Care.

Meg is an Ecological and Therapeutic Horticulturist who has been weaving together her training and experience in Horticulture, Herbal Medicine, and Community Development to facilitate nature connection experiences for both individuals and groups since 2020, fostering community care and (re)connection with the more-than-human world.
